Landing into Teenage Years
The beginning of teenage years is similar to learning how to fly a plane. Being a teenager isn’t just a walk in the park. It’s difficult. You have to learn all new things because you’re getting ready for adulthood. Just like learning how to fly a plane, it isn’t going to be easy. Everything in life takes practice. Flying a plane is a long journey; life is a journey too. There are ups and downs and twists and turns.
Being a teenager isn’t all that easy, and neither is flying a plane. Flying a plane isn’t simple and easy. You have to learn how to control the plane and to take control of your life. Everyone makes mistakes, even pilots. Pilots go to experts to teach them how to fly better, to land and to take off. My expert in life is my mom; she teaches me how to be a better person and to succeed in life. When flying a plane you look for the towers to guide you and for advice. In life you’d go to your best friends, your mom and dad, to give you advice on life. To be a better flyer, you’d go to flying lessons to interact with other pilots and learn from them. Going to school, for me, is being able to interact with kids my age and learning new things and being able to experiment with different things too. We all need a social life, but we need to be aware of your surroundings. You don’t want to get into a plane if it’s run down and broken because it could be dangerous. In life, you don’t want to go to a party where everyone is drunk, and you know you don’t have a way home. Think before you act and prepare yourself for a tough situation. For example, you checked the weather and everything is supposed to be going smooth and then all of the sudden the weather changes from being sunny and bright to pouring down rain in a thunder storm. You want to remain calm when a situation gets really scary and sometimes goes wrong. Prepare for life because not everything goes as planned. You also have to learn how to land right or else you will end up crash landing in the middle of nowhere. In the real world when you ‘crash land’ you either end up in the principal’s office or in a prison; it all depends on your situation.
What I’m trying to say is; taking off in the plane is like your first few years of being a teenager and landing the plane is when you’re going into adulthood. Always think before you act. Yes, things don’t always go as planned, but that is life. Becoming a teenager is similar to flying a plane in many different directions. Life is a journey. Learn all the possibilities and try new things. Learn what ‘button’ this does and what ‘button’ that does. Be willing to take a risk; flying a plane is taking a big risk.
